press release:
"Glancing at the Black Metal (Hail!) scene, we find out a new duo, called Rhetra, coming from northern Italy. Their first work is “Ego Sum mors vestra”, a seven tracks album which reminds sonorities from early Darkthrone, early Immortal, early Gorgoroth. Guitar sound is a blade, fast and furious is the drums rhythm, the screaming female voice belongs to an Ancient Breed of Fire. Almost inexistent rest, in a chaotic atmosphere which conveys the power of rage able to destroy.
A sort of apocalyptic Rite made of melody and words: a vortex of accords capable to suck into itself all squalor from Planet Earth. All lyrics and all musical composition (except for “Slating”) are accredited to the severe lady and to her mysterious and precious collaborator named Skugga. Lyrics contents rove from mystic to misanthropic, from modern society condemnation to chant of war and revenge. Omnipresent is pride’s and sacred value’s of courage and rebellion theme and a merciless aversion to human kind’s corruption. Try and listen to this particular product, whose harmonies drag into a reinvigorating will of Supreme Justice, probably like Ancestor Spirits have always done."

BAND BIOGRAPHY:
Sophia was born in Legnano (Milano, Italy).
When she was 8 she started studying classic music at a private Institute, where she chose violin as her instrument. She had been studying for one year piano, because it’s considered as complementary instrument in the Academy of Music program for violinists. In 1992 she got her “Theory and solfeggio” certificate at the Conservatorio Musicale Giuseppe Nicolini in Piacenza, with full marks. At the same time, she had been taking choral singing lessons at the same Institute. When she was 16, she interrupted her musical studies.
In the following years, she composed anyway, just for personal pleasure, some modern songs, with vocal parts and lyrics, thanks to an old Eko acoustic guitar. She recorded them using home instrumentations and let those songs stay inside a strict circle of her acquaintances. Then she stopped with composing music for some years and she just carried on playing instruments of her own.
She suddenly began her musical activity again in 2010, thanks to a personal pregnant event that pushed her to play again. In that year, together with Davide Del Col (bass, drums), she founded Rhetra, changing from classic instruments to electric guitar and beginning to compose music and lyrics again.
